The Fargo Force completed two transactions before the USHL trade deadline on Monday, Feb. 26 at 6 PM. One transaction was a three way deal with the Force, Omaha Lancers and the Muskegon Lumberjacks and the second transaction was with the Chicago Steel.
In the first three way deal transaction, Fargo sent forward Ryan Savage to the Lancers. In the three way swap, the Force received a future player (to be named later) and three draft picks.
Fargo then used two draft picks to acquire forward Jordan Seyfert from Chicago. Force left winger Hunter Johannes also went to Chicago in the trade.
Seyfert is in his second season in the USHL and has put up 19 points in 40 games played so far this season with the Steel scoring nine goals and adding ten assists. The forward from Annville, PA is committed to Merrimack College.
“It’s always tough to make trades this late in the season,” said head coach and general manager Cary Eades. “However, we feel it will be a good move for all players involved. As the dust settled, we are thrilled to add Seyfert to our forward group and feel he will help us in our push to the playoffs. He’s a speedster who hounds pucks and has a scoring knack around the net. He was a part of Chicago’s Clark Cup title winning team last year, so he knows what it takes to win a championship.”
Seyfert will wear jersey #14 for the Force and will make his debut at home when the Force return from their month long roadtrip. The team travels to Central Illinois March 2-3, Madison March 9-10 and will be back at Scheels Arena March 16-17 for a weekend series versus the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Tickets are available at the Scheels Arena box office Monday through Friday from 10AM-5PM, online 24/7 at ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
