Fargo Force defenseman, Jonathan McDonald has committed to Umass Lowell. He becomes the 22nd player on the current roster to get a college commit. There is just one player left on the roster uncommitted. Only two players share the same college commit, all other players are committed to different colleges.
McDonald, out of Livonia, MI, is in his rookie season in the USHL and has suited up in 23 games for Fargo so far this season. He’s put up three assists and holds a plus/minus rating of +2. The defenseman was drafted by Fargo in the eighth round (125th overall) in Phase 2 of the 2016 USHL Draft.
“I chose Lowell because of the culture they are building,” said McDonald. “It's been a dream of mine to play on the east coast ever since I was a kid and this is the opportunity I have always wanted.”
McDonald and the Force are on the road in Youngstown this weekend for a two-game series against the Phantoms on February 24-25. The Force currently sit in fourth place and are battling for a spot in the 2017 USHL playoffs. Top four teams from each conference get in.
