The Fargo Force have acquired forward Niko Hildenbrand from the Waterloo Black Hawks, along with a fourth round pick in Phase II of the 2016 USHL Draft, in trade for forward Zach Yon.
Hildenbrand, a right wing out of Vacaville, California, is in his second full season in the USHL. In the 2014-15 season, he played in 54 games for the Black Hawks scoring eight goals and adding 13 assists for 21 points. So far into the 2015-16 campaign, he’s tallied nine points in 22 games played after being out until November with an injury. The forward has five goals and four assists. He is committed to the University of Massachusetts.
"We are excited to welcome Niko to the Force family,” said Force head coach Cary Eades. "He is a player I have liked ever since I saw him at a USHL combine camp in Chicago 4 years ago. He is a USHL veteran that can play in all situations - 5 on 5, powerplay and penalty kill, and we feel he's a good fit to our forward group as we push to make the playoffs.”
Hildenbrand will be eligible to join the Force roster for the next games on the road in Green Bay, WI February 5 and 6 as the team takes on the Gamblers. He will wear jersey number 18. The Force return home for three games in four days on February 12, 13 and 15.
