Fargo Force, just one game away from 500, fell to the Muskegon Lumberjacks Friday night by a score of 4-1. Muskegon having earned only 8 points so far this season and Fargo having earned 11, as well as having recently made some promising trades and having success on the road, this was supposed to be the game for Fargo to break their streak as a losing team. However, at 3:35 in the first Muskegon surprised Fargo with their ability and scored the first goal of tonight’s FM Ice Sharks throwback game.

Late in the second the Force managed to get on the board as Zach Yon, assisted by Blake Lizotte and Brody Stevens scored a clean attractive goal in the bottom right corner of Muskegon’s net. However, Muskegon responded immediately, scoring their second goal of the game, as Rem Pitlick took back the lead for the Lumberjacks.

In the third, the Force had several great attacks on the net hitting the crossbar and picking up rebounds. However with their inconsistencies in play they were not able to capitalize and unfortunately the Lumberjacks’ offense continued to use the Force’s mistakes to their advantage. Muskegon took advantage of a turnover in the Force’s territory at 13:01 in the third as Matej Paulovic scored an unassisted goal on a one on one battle with goalie Ryan Wischow. The Force brawled until the end of the third as they continued to set up plays in front of the net but were unable to break through Muskegon’s defense. Muskegon scored an empty netter at the end of the third ending the game Muskegon 4, Fargo 1.

Head coach Cary Eades was disappointed in Fargo’s play. Saying that their success on the road and failure at home is “inexplicable and unacceptable.” Eades claimed that Muskegon came to play and deserved the win.

The Fargo Force take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks again Saturday, November 14th, at 7:05pm for Ladies night! Tickets are available at the Scheels Arena Box Office, tickets300.com, or the Tickets300 location on Broadway. Box office hours are Monday-Friday 11:00am-6:00pm.
