The Fargo Force announced that Eli Rosendahl has been hired as the new goaltending coach and will join the coaching staff effective immediately. Former goaltending coach, Steve Briere, recently made the move up to the NHL level after accepting a job with the Toronto Maple Leafs in July.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Eli Rosendahl to our coaching staff,” said head coach/GM Cary Eades. “Eli is a proven developer of goaltending talent and we look forward to him using his knowledge and expertise in mentoring our goalies.”
Rosendahl is currently the Head Coach of the Hockey Academy at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, ND, where he has been the head coach for the past year and a half. He played hockey at Red River High School and has been involved in the game ever since. Rosendahl has coached in Grand Forks for the past four years as the volunteer goalie coach with the University of North Dakota women’s hockey program and is also the coach of the Hockey Academy Selects pre-season team (Midget AAA).
“I am very thankful to Coach Eades and his staff for the opportunity,” said Rosendahl. “I’ve been around the Ralph for a long time and got to know Cary through UND. I’m excited to get into camp and meet the guys and start the process. At the end of the day, my goal is to help maximize their individual games as well as to help the Fargo Force win a lot of hockey games.”
The season and home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 25 at 7:05 PM out at Scheels Arena versus the Sioux City Musketeers. Single game tickets go on sale Aug. 31.
