Fargo Force alumni Zane McIntyre and Tanner Kero have been named two of the 10 finalists for the 2015 Hobey Baker Award, which is given annually to the top player in NCAA Divison I men’s hockey.

McIntyre, a junior goaltender for the University of North Dakota and a Boston Bruins draft pick, has appeared in all 37 games this season for UND and has a 27-7-3 record with a 1.97 goals against average and a school-record-tying .932 save percentage. He was recently named NCHC Goaltender of the Year and was an All-NCHC First Team selection. He is also a national finalist for the 2015 Mike Richter Award, which is given annually to the most outstanding goalie in NCAA Divison I men’s hockey.

While with the Force, McIntyre was named co-recipient of USHL’s 2011-12 Goaltender of the Year award and the Fargo Force 2011-12 Most Valuable Player. In the 2010-11 regular season he went 14-8-0 with a 2.23 goals against average and a .908 save percentage and had two shutouts. In 2011-12 he went 26-14-4 and led the USHL in save percentage with .921 and shutouts with 7. He ranked second in goals against average in the USHL with 2.22. He also set records in all four categories for the Force franchise.

Kero is a senior forward at Michigan Tech. He has been named the 2014-2015 WCHA Player of the Year, the WCHA Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year, and to the All-WCHA First Team. Kero led the WHCA in overall points with 43 (18g, 25a) this season. Throughout his collegiate career, Kero has played in 148 games, tallying 108 career points (53g, 55a), which ranks 51st in school history.

Kero played for the Fargo Force in the 2010-11 season. He was the team’s third leading scorer with a total of 37 points (13g, 24a) in 55 games played. He also appeared in five playoff games for the Force where he scored one goal. Kero also earned a spot on the USHL Western Conference All-Star Team.
