The Fargo Force received tough news last week, as forward Tyson Gross suffered a season ending injury. The Calgary, AB native, who is committed to St. Cloud State University, has appeared in 23 of 37 games in his first season with the Force, scoring 4 goals and adding 4 assists. We are confident of a full recovery and are hopeful he is ready for the start of the 22-23 season.

With two other forwards also out with long term injuries, the Force added some depth to their roster, acquiring a pair of forwards on Sunday, February 6th.

University of New Hampshire commit JP Turner comes to Fargo from the Sioux Falls Stampede, where he has played the past 2 seasons. The 5’11, 195 lb, right handed forward has scored 7 goals and added 2 assists in his USHL career.

The Force also added right handed forward Dakota MacIntosh from the Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the NAHL. The 6’2, 194 lb, Winnipeg, MB native, is committed to Maine University, and has racked up 14 goals and 12 assists for 26 points in his first season of junior hockey.

“We are excited to have added size, skill and much needed depth to our forward group”, said Force GM, Cary Eades. “We are very familiar with both players, and both are younger guys - 2003 and 2004 born – so they should be back with us next season as well. Turner can play both center and wing, and his experience in the USHL should make for a quick adjustment into our line-up”.

“MacIntosh attended our try-out camp last summer, and was someone we had rated very highly in the upcoming USHL Draft”, continued Eades. “Now we don’t have to worry about drafting him, we can start his development with the Force immediately. We’d like to show our appreciation to Fairbanks and their GM, Rob Proffitt, for their cooperation and support in moving their players on to higher levels. They do a great job of developing players there.”

Turner and MacIntosh are expected to be in the line-up this weekend, as the Force host 1st place Tri City Storm on Friday and Saturday. Friday night it’s Hockey Mom’s Night at Scheels Arena!
