What is Honor Flight?

Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN

The Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN has flown more than 1200 WWII, Korean War and terminally ill Veterans to Washington DC to see their memorials at no cost to them.  These trips would not be possible without fundraising efforts from the Event Committee and financial support from you!

Memories of a Lifetime for Veterans and Families

The two-day trip starts at Arlington National Cemetery with the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns followed by a stop at Iwo Jima, Pentagon and FDR Memorials and a drive-by the Air Force Memorial and White House before travelling to the hotel for a banquet, surprise Mail Call and a good night’s sleep.

Day Two starts with a plated breakfast followed by police escorts to the National Archives, Korean/Vietnam/Lincoln Memorials, WWII Memorial, DAV and Navy Memorials and a trip to the Air and Space Museum if time allows.  A special part of the trip is the Welcome Home at Hector International Airport with the Red River Valley Veterans Concern Band.   Each Veteran also receives a jacket, hat, t-shirt, large group photo (taken at the WWII Memorial) and a DVD/case with 1000-1200 photos.
