The Force are back on the road this weekend for the first time since October 23rd as they look to end the streak and take home a pair of wins against the Sioux City Musketeers.
Last weekend the Force came up short vs. Omaha falling 3-1 on Nov. 5 and 4-3 in overtime on Nov. 6. The Musketeers suffered a similar fate vs. the Tri-City Storm, dropping their first game 1-0 in overtime and losing 4-1 the following night.
Friday, the 12th will be the second time the Force and Musketeers have faced off this season. The first ended in Fargo’s favor with a 4-3 victory back on October 9th. Since that victory the Force have gone 1-5-2-0 and the Musketeers have gone 4-1-1-2 both teams having lost both games last weekend and the weekend prior.
In their last matchup Force forward and Boston Bruins prospect Andre Gasseau scored a hat trick including a shortie and a powerplay goal to win the game. With 6 goals and 3 assists in 11 games so far this season the Force will look to their leading scorer to replicate that success this weekend. Gasseau is followed on the point leaderboard by forward Cole Knuble (4G-5A) and Trevor Griebel (8A)
The Force are anchored in net by Anton Castro and Louden Hogg. Castro backstopped the Force in both games last weekend stopping 26/28 on Friday and making some huge saves on Saturday to send the game into overtime. In his first start with the Force on Oct 30, Hogg made 26/30 saves falling to the Blackhawks in overtime 4-3.
Following this weekend, the Force are away for three more games and then back on home ice for a Thanksgiving weekend matchup vs. the Tri-City Storm. On Friday, Nov 26 it’s Black Friday, all tickets are just 5 dollars! Saturday, Nov 27 it’s Honor Flight Night, featuring specialty jerseys, a silent auction and more, all to raise funds for the FM Veteran’s Honor Flight. Tickets can be purchased at the Scheels Arena box office or online via ticketmaster.com.
