The Force are back at Scheels Arena this weekend for their final two home games of the regular season. They face off against the Waterloo Blackhawks on Thursday and Friday at 7:05 PM on both nights.
After splitting their two games on the road last week, with a 3-2 loss at Omaha and a 2-0 shutout win in Des Moines, the Force will look to carry their momentum from Saturday’s contest into their games against Waterloo. Two wins this weekend would be big, as the win percentages between the top five teams in the West continue to draw closer. Only 4 teams from the Western Conference qualify for the play-offs, with the top 2 finishers earning home ice for the entire best of 3 first round.
The BlackHawks are fresh off two wins against Sioux Falls on home ice last weekend. Although they are no longer amongst the teams vying for a spot in the playoffs, they’ll come into these two games looking to finish out the season strong.
The Force have beaten Waterloo in all four matchups so far this season. Last time the two teams played each other was in March in Waterloo, where the Force came away with a big 4-1 victory. Thus far on the season the Force have outscored the BlackHawks 13-6.
Tristan Broz (17G-31A-48P) has been a thorn in Waterloo’s side scoring 4 goals in 4 games against the BlackHawks. He had a solid game on Saturday as well with a goal and an assist in Des Moines. Fargo’s scoring leader will look to continue his success against Waterloo this weekend. Following Broz on the point leader board are Jeremy Davidson (13G-25A-38P) and Aaron Huglen (14G-19A-33P). Both forwards have done a number on Waterloo as well, with a goal and four assists between the two of them.
Waterloo’s leading scorer Max Sasson (18G-24A-42P) is someone to watch, as he’s coming of a two goal, two assist, +3 weekend, earning himself USHL Forward of the Week. However, Sasson has yet to put up a point against the Force.
Following Thursday and Friday’s matchups the Force are back on the road for their final two games of the regular season against the Sioux City Musketeers. Puck drop on Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th is at 7:05 PM.
