Two Lancer goals early in the third created a two-point deficit the Force couldn’t come back from as Omaha took a 3-2 win in tonight’s matchup.
The game got off to a slow start with no goals and no penalties scored in the first period. However, the Force outshot their opponents in the opening 20 minutes 11-2.
The birthday boy, Ryan Richardson scored the first goal of the game 3:08 into the second period. He snuck one past the Lancer netminder on a two-man rush, giving Fargo a 1-0 lead. Halfway through the second the Lancers scored a goal of their own, tying up the game at ones to close out period two.
Two goals from Omaha both scored by Nolan Renwick a minute and seven second apart early in the third gave the Lancers their first lead of the game. With 9:30 remaining Jeremy Davidson banged one home, but Fargo couldn’t manage to add on another, falling to Omaha 3-2.
The Force are back again tonight for a big game vs. the Des Moines Buccaneers as they look to come out even on the weekend. Puck drop is at 6:05 PM.
