Week 14 Preview

By Force Staff, 02/03/21, 11:00AM CST

The 1st place Fargo Force (16-9-2-0; 34 pts.) are on the road again this weekend for two games at Young Arena vs. the Waterloo Black Hawks (8-13-1-0; 17 pts.). Game one of the weekend is on Friday at 7:05 PM, game two is on Saturday at 6:05 PM, both will be streamed via HockeyTV.

The Force have faced the Black Hawks only once so far this season, back on January 7th at Scheels Arena. Fargo struck early and maintained the lead for the entire game, coming away with a 4-2 win. Goals from Broz, Davidson, Bargholtz and Monds, as well as 24 stops from Andrew Miller in the net all contributed to that Force W. They’ll look to replicate that dominant performance again this weekend and extend their 5-point lead over Tri-City to remain at the top of the Western Conference standings.

Jeremy Davidson is currently leading the Force in points (8G-17A-25P) and averaging just under a point a game. He also leads the team with 17 assists and is in a three-way tie with Wong and Broz for total goals with eight. Defenseman Ryan Siedem (1G-16A-17P) is currently ranked in the top five in scoring for USHL defenseman. Siedem is right behind Davidson with 16 assists and is a dangerous player on the ice for Fargo. Tristan Broz (8G-15A-23P), a University of Minnesota commit is fresh off a two-goal weekend and will no doubt play a big role in this weekend’s contest.

Point leaders for Waterloo include David Gucciardi (4G-12A-16P), Max Sasson (6G-9A-15P) and Kyler Kleven (7G-6A-13P). Wyatt Schingoethe is another player to watch for this weekend, recently recording a hat trick in Waterloo’s 4-5 loss vs. Dubuque last week. Waterloo had three wins and seven losses in the month of January, and Fargo went an even .500 with six wins and six losses. Both teams will go into the weekend looking to start February, and the second half of the USHL season off strong.

The Force return to home ice for a face off against the Lincoln Stars on Thursday February 11th.  It’s College Night and the start of Valentine’s Day Weekend!
