With the score tied at 1 late in the 2nd period, the Musketeers score 2 goals only six seconds apart and go on to a 6-2 win in Sioux City this afternoon.
Fargo took the lead early in the first thanks to a goal from Jeremy Davidson. Aaron Huglen centered up a beautiful pass from an impossible angle giving Davidson a clear look at the back of the net. The Force held on to their 1-0 advantage for the remainder of the first but were outshot by Sioux City 5-4.
The Musketeers came alive in the second scoring their first goal of the game two minutes and 39 seconds into the period. Then with 1:54 remaining in the period Jeremy Davidson was sent to the penalty box resulting in a big power play opportunity for Sioux City. They made the most of their man advantage and scored eight seconds into the power play, giving them their first lead of the night. Then six seconds later, they caught the Force off guard and scored again, and just like that they were up 3-1. With :42 seconds remaining in the period Fargo found themselves in a power play opportunity of their own. Jake Braccini, with just four seconds remaining in the period, lit the lamp for Fargo off a feed from Jeremy Davidson cutting the Sioux City lead in half.
The third was highlighted by three goals from Sioux City, including a shorthanded goal only a minute and 45 seconds into the period. The Force couldn’t manage to cut the deficit and the Musketeers came away with a 6-2 win. The Force won 2/3 games this weekend and remain on top of the Western Conference with a 13-4-2 record.
