The Fargo Force announced today that they have traded forward Cade Stibbe to the Lincoln Stars for a conditional pick in the 2021 USHL Phase 2 Entry draft. Stibbe, who is committed to Arizona State University spent most of last season with Minot in the NAHL, where he tallied 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points in 41 games for the Minotauros. He also was called up by the Force last season on a couple of occasions, where he had 2 assists in 6 games.
Stibbe played his High School hockey for Fargo Davies HS, and he captained the Eagles to the ND State HS Championship game in 2019. He was then selected by the Force in the 7th round in the 2019 USHL Phase 2 Entry draft.
“It was a very difficult decision by our staff to make this move” said Fargo Force general Manager, Cary Eades. “We have followed Cade’s development as a player since he was a freshman at Davies (HS), and he’s extremely dedicated on and off the ice to making himself a better hockey player. He is also a great person, and is a popular teammate. Unfortunately, it came down to whether or not we thought we had a good development opportunity for him. We came to the conclusion that we didn't feel we had a good spot for him to grow his game with us this season. Cade has paid his dues, and he deserves an opportunity to be an everyday player in the USHL, prior to heading off to college. We wish him nothing but good luck in Lincoln.”
The Force return to action this Thursday night in their last home game of the preseason. They face a team from the Northern American Hockey League, the Minnesota Magician. Puck drop at 7:05 pm.
