The Fargo Force have traded forward Nick Cardelli to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2019 USHL Phase II Draft. The trade opens up a roster spot that will be filled by defenseman Evan Bell, who will rejoin the Force after spending the fall semester with Merrimack College in the NCAA.
Bell played in four games for Merrimack this fall, tallying two assists and three shots on goal. Prior to moving to college hockey, Bell played two seasons with Fargo, scoring 20 points (4-16-20) in 117 games from 2015-2017.
“We are excited to add a veteran presence to our D-corp with the return of Evan Bell”, said Force Head Coach / GM Cary Eades. “We’ve been looking to add another defenseman to our group for about a month, so it was a nice surprise and a great Christmas gift when he called me over the break to tell us he wanted to return to Fargo. We feel we have good depth at forward – especially right handed forwards. These transactions will open up more opportunities for developing some of our younger forwards. We want to wish Nick Cardelli all the best in Cedar Rapids – he’s a class act on and of the ice”.
Bell will likely be in the lineup for the USHL-leading Force when they get back in action December 29-30 with matchups against the Sioux Falls Stampede and Omaha Lancers. Puck drop for both games is at 7:05 PM. Tickets are available at the Scheels Arena box office Monday through Friday from 10AM-5PM, online 24/7 at ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
