The United States Hockey League announced today the rosters for the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game taking place on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at the Viaero Center in Kearney, NE. Three Fargo Force players were selected with forwards Ryan Savage and Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup and defenseman Matt Kessel being named to Team West.
The two-day event will begin on Monday, Jan. 8th with on-ice testing conducted by HockeyTech, and off-ice measurements conducted by NHL Central Scouting. 2018 marks the fourth consecutive year the USHL will host the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, and sixth year all-time.
Savage, a Scottsdale, AZ native, has played in 18 games with the Force so far this season tallying 7 points with 3 goals and 4 assists. The forward is committed to Miami University following his junior hockey career.
Schmidt-Svejstrup is leading the entire USHL in both points, goals scored, and powerplay goals scored. The forward leads the Force with 27 total points through 21 games played scoring 16 goals and adding 11 assists. The Denmark skater is committed to the University of Maine.
Kessel has tallied 1 assist through 16 games and his plus/minus rating of +11 leads all rookies in the USHL. The defenseman out of Bloomfield Hills, MI will join teammate Ryan Savage at Miami University to play his collegiate hockey.
