My USHL Offseason: Anthony Day and Sam Coatta-Although it is the middle of summer and the first thing that comes to mind for most people is the outdoors, the beach, cookouts, and swimming pools – the sport of hockey is the first thing on the mind for USHL players as they keep busy during the summer months in anticipation of the 2010-11 season.
USHL Players to Represent USA in Europe-A total of five players who spent the 2009-10 season in the USHL have been named to the 2010 U.S. Under-18 Select Team that will compete at the 2010 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament from August 9-14 in Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany, Slovakia.
Grimaldi Commits to University of North Dakota-Team USA forward Rocco Grimaldi has committed to attend the University of North Dakota following his USHL career. During the 2009-10 season, Grimaldi posted 20 points (11g, 9a) in 32 USHL games for Team USA's U17 squad while serving as team captain. The 17-year-old native of Auburn Hills, Michigan tied for the lead on Team USA with six power play goals.
